Regional Director, TESDA IV-A Luisita S. Dela Cruz keynoted the 54th Commencement Exercises of Quezon National Agricultural School held on March 30, 2017 at the QNAS gymnasium with its theme, QNAS: Empowering Filipino Workers… Creating Opportunities.
She revolved her talk on the importance of being equipped with technical know-how and the work values developed with enthusiasm, perseverance and dedication. However, the bottom line for the success in life depends upon oneself. With the trainings gained, she believes that the lives of the Quezonians will be uplifted and thus, the economic status of the whole province will boom to success
She gave emphasis that TESDA graduate should possess the acronym ABaKaDa. A for Alam, which means, a graduate is equipped with the knowledge gained from the training. Ba for Balak, that a graduate should have a plan or direction after graduation. Ka for Kakayahan or Kasanayan, a graduate must be skillful enough to cope with the 21st Century workforce. Da for Dating, a graduate must be presentable enough and well-groomed inasmuch as one’s personality is very important in hunting a job.
“Knowing and doing the tasks with high work competence is actually the trend of getting employed and priority today; having just a diploma is actually not that assurance; while having you fitted to the job as the job fits you becomes your access of getting hired. The unemployment rate can only be solved by getting into technical-vocational courses”, she added.
The awardees and honor graduates led the candidates for graduation. Mr. Jaime R. Racho, Sr., the Training Management Unit Head gave his welcome address. The Acting Vocational School Superintendent, AVSS Gerardo R. Marasigan introduced the guest speaker. The TMU Head presented the candidates for graduation. AVSS Marasigan requested for the confirmation of graduation to the OIC Provincial Director, Ms. Ava Heidi V. Dela Torre who confirmed the graduates.
Awarding of medals and distribution of training certificates to the meritorious awardees and honor graduates were done by the guest of honor and speaker, PD, AVSS and TMU Head.
Likewise, a thanksgiving mass, blessing and ribbon cutting of the newly refurbished administration building was held before the graduation rites. The Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Bong Estremera officiated the said affairs.
